Inc – Creative / Creadigol is a new venture from Barry based artist / printmaker Michael Goode, and is an online resource of creatives (artists, makers, designers, photographers, musicians, dancers, actors) who are looking to work in schools, colleges and community settings.
Michael studied for a BA (Hons) Degree in 3D Design (Ceramics & Furniture) at Edinburgh College of Art, and a PGCE in Design & Technology from Gwent College of Higher Education. He has been an artist & printmaker for over 25 years and has been a member of Edinburgh Printmakers, Swansea & Cardiff Print Workshops and Printhaus. He was a Director of the Cardiff Arts Collective for four years, helping to organise the Cardiff Open, the Penarth Art Fair and a residency at the Green Man Festival. He has shown work in a number of galleries including St. David’s Hall, Galeri, Penarth Pier Pavilion, Art Central and the National Eisteddfod. He was co-founder of Canton Community Gardens and worked with Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff to establish a community garden, beehives, a greenhouse and outreach activities. He has also run creative workshops for a number of organisations including Menter Caerdydd, GEA Systems, Vale of Glamorgan Council, Penarth Pier and in numerous schools.
He has worked in education and development for a number of high profile organisations including Cadw, St. David’s Hall/New Theatre and Education Extra Cymru. He was an Arts Development Officer at the Arts Council of Wales for 11 years and has spent the last three years teaching in various primary and secondary schools including a year teaching GCSE and A Level Art & Design at Ysgol Cwm Rhondda, Porth.
Therefore, he has an understanding and experience of working in the creative and educational sectors and is looking to create a resource that allows both to access information, advice and support.
He now wants to offer opportunties to other creatives and to show their work to the wider public by organising ‘pop-up’ events, shows, fairs, residencies and showcases, and these opportunities will be featured on the website.
